Children's Ministries
Children are a very special part of our church because we believe them to be special to God. Children's ministries at HBC are committed to assisting parents in their God-given responsibility in raising their children in a way that is honouring to God (Ephesians 6:4). At the heart of children's ministry is age appropriate bible teaching to help children come to a true knowledge of God and to put their trust in Jesus Christ.
FIRST STEPS CRECHE
ages 0-36 months.
A warm, safe environment is made available in our lower lounge area for babies, toddlers, and their parents. Alternatively, there is a cry room available upstairs (overlooking the auditorium). Parents are welcome to stay in the creche or attend the main worship service. Creche is open from 9.30am.
JUNIOR CHURCH
When: During the Sunday Morning Worship Service
Junior Church consists of 60-70 children excluding creche. Part way through the corporate worship in the church auditorium, the children will be notified when to leave for Junior Church. All the children gather in the Clarkson Hall for a time of singing, notices, prayer, and the taking up of collection for our two world vision children. Afterwards, children disperse to their various classes.
STEPPING STONES
age 3 - 6 years.
Meets in the Howick Baptist Kindergarten rooms for an interactive time of bible story lesson followed by a craft project that reflects the lesson.
JUNIOR CLASS MIDDLE CLASSES INTERMEDIATES
age 6-9 years age 9-11 years age 12-13 years
We use age appropriate sunday school material from 'Children Desiring God Ministries.' These curriculum emphasize that man is not the key player in history; God is the engineer of all life, and His purposes are fulfilled throughout history. Each curriculum is a 40 week study that purposefully presents God as the main character in each lesson, rather than dwelling on man and man's needs. Therefore, each lesson focuses on the magnificient character of the One who can satisfy all our longings. Showing children the greatness of God gives them a basis to respond to Him. This material presents a great God who is worthy to be admired and imitated.
On the last Sunday of each month, the intermediate age children remain in the church auditorium, participating in the corporate worship service.

When: Fridays nights, 6:00 - 7:30pm
Where: Howick Baptist Church in 'The Grotto', towards the back end of the church

Mission Kids is a ministry of Howick Baptist Church designed to serve the parents and children (year 5 - year 8) by providing a safe, fun, friendly Friday evening activity where the children can build friendships, learn more about Christ, & serve others.
